KrissFlyer anyone????!!!

Finally got a job after a long hunt...ok actually not a very long hunt...was jus lazing around at home for the past 2 months. So now working for Singapore Airlines (SIA) KrissFlyer mileage programme.

I love theee placeee! I mean this is the 1st workplace I am actually enjoying the work.... I dun even mind the distance..like 1 and a half hr for travel to and fro...hmmm at 1st i used to think east is very far away but now traveling there everyday makes the distance seem short....always thought that finding your own group of friends in a workplace is impossible BUT this place proves me wrong... hehe I just I like the people more than the work haha...

Well so we're basically in training rite now....hope it's as good when we are on our own.... ok so basically if u travel by SIA especially by 1st or biz class go and apply to be a KF member...u may benefit a lot....esp u get to use the Silver Kriss lounge which is ohhh---soooo---good from wat i've heard.... :))

alritey dats all for now...more updates coming up :))

Bali Roccckkkssss!!!

I know this entree should have been up lonngggg ago..but...well sthg is better than nthg...

The 5 days spent in Bali were fullll of relaxation and stress free OMG I love the Balinese people…they’re soo noice..so helpful…What our driver there said was soo true..even if Bali is bombed again…the local people will b the 1st to risk their life and help the tourists!

Hmm so now as u can probably guess I was badly sunburnt…Really bad…my hands are of different shades now and my skin had basically just dried up…my poor face had to endure the sweltering sun….but if there isn’t sun, sand and beach, then it isn’t Bali so better to have it. ..thkfull now...after almost a mth..hehe am back to normal :)

On the 1st day… WE WERE CHEATED. We were in the car at the traffic junction where a group of boys were selling newspapers. So I decided to get a copy. There were ‘bout 5 guys there. The 1st one asked me which country I am from, and I said Singapore. Then, he shouted to a few others and about 3 of them came running towards me with eager smiles on their faces, each of their hands flashing a copy of The Strait Times.

Mom to me: Umm….y are all cover pages of the papers different?
Me to mom: *stop acting dumb kinda look* after which I started reading the paper.
Me to mom: this article seems familiar…is it a follow-up of a previous one??? ( I start turning the pages)
Mom: Check the date of the paper
Me, mom and my brother all set to the task of finding the date….

The paper was not dated!!! It onli had the issue no…which told me the paper was from December 2006!!!! And guess how much I spent on it??? 45,000 Rp….aka S$9.00. 9 feaking dollars for a 80cent newspaper…!!!! I could have had 3 manicures and a pedicure done with that $$$ in Bali….

At the next junction, we saw more of these boys….all of them again holding a diff newspaper…Amruta refused to be tricked. So, if you go to Bali, bring along a mag or an ipod but dun buy newspapers!

That was the onli bad incident I encountered there….the rest of the day I spent eating the delicious, yummy Dunkin Donuts!!! And of course the yummmmm food 

The next morning, I begged everyone to go shopping….  *winks*
I went down for breakfast at 9. dad had ordered it for me…Greedily I took a sip of my juice and dug into the fruits salad. Something felt funny…my tongue began to itch  bad symptom.

Me to dad: wat’s this!
Dad: Juice???!
Me: Which??
Dad: Watermelon mixed with something…..

Uh-oh…no guesses for what that something was…PINEAPPLE!!!!YUCKSSSS!!!! Am allergic to it, big time! I am glad I made it to my room and didn’t vomit in the eyes of the public itself. But in a way, it was good. My mom wanted to secretly mix pineapple in my food to TEST whether I am still allergic to it (since I haven’t let pineapple near me for the past 7 yrs)…hehe now she noes…just 3 sips of diluted pineapple juice can set me on fire!

Thankfully by 11 am I was totally fine and could go shopping…oh btw that’s when I got most of the sunburns.

See, what a nice fren I am!!! I went to shop in the hot hot hot sun! It’s super fun to shop in Bali, which all the people just sweet talking u ..well sometimes it feels good... naturally the price for a skirt was started off with 260,000 Rp…and we bargained it down to 50,000 Rp. See rahul! I know how to bargain…well I mean dad does and I’m his apprentice 

Then went to the beach.

The minute I went in I made a mistake…I showed interest in the manicure charts…bad bad bad…everyone came rushing down and b4 I knew it I had my hands massaged and manicured!!! ooooohhhhh I was scolded by dad after that…

Dad: Is the beach to have manicures????!!!!

Haha a little bit of scoldin doesn’t hurt for my much wanted manicure.

Went to see the memorial at nite, where the bombing occurred.

The spot is near Kuta beach, and all tourists stay around that beach. So basically, all the hotels are jus 5 mins away from that place. Good research on their part. The bombs were placed in a pub called Polly’s I think. The pub still stands there jus that it overlooks the different side of street; it has moved to the other side of the road.

Monday was a quieeeetttt day. I’m amused how the people of the same religion celebrate the same festival differently..It was Hindu new year and while the Hindus in India celebrate it by visiting each other the Balinese hindu, celebrate it as a sacred silent day. So no lights, no noise, no walking. I didn’t take it as seriously at 1st when our driver said we can’t go out on Monday AT ALL….but they are damn serious ppl man…they locked the hotel from outside so as to prevent guests from walking out on the streets…so eeriee..imagine not a single soul on the streets! The whole day was spent in silence…no shouts, no sounds of vechicles, nothing…jus whispers of other guests by the pool. In the evening, onli very dim light was allowed…the hotel attendant ca me up to our room to ask us to switch off the balcony lights…well it looked like we were going to have an air raid!!! K the silent day was very much appreciated by me as you get to be enveloped by peacefulness and blanketed by stars. The last time I saw this many stars was when I was in Panchgani, India…once sky advertising takes over, we may not even c the sky…so treasure it now….

Went sight seeing again on Tuesday

Got my favourite drink: Chendol…but actually I guess it tastes better in Singapore..it was quite horrible there…I mean I wish I hadn’t had it….oh then we went to a restaurant which was set on a hill…it was nice but a bit too close to nature…I saw a squirrel on the tree and a lizard jumped out of nowhere on the chair next to me…so naturally I screamed and attracted a lot of attention….but no 1 wanted 2 leave…and I was forced to experience realllll nature….my god I felt like I was starring for some survivor role!

Phewwww….went to shop a bit more…wanted to buy some stone or wooden carving…then for the much wanted foot massage!!! omg how I wish foot massage was popular here….i wld go there every mth!!! It lasted for like an hour and my felt so soft and cared for!

Next morning everyone went to watch the traditional dance…but it really bores me, so I jus slept in till 10..then packed up and waited for every1 to return…then spent all the remaining cash and change on chewing gums and smuggled them into Singapore hhaa…ooooohhhh the thrill. And for that thrill I need to visit the dentist soon…

Back to the city of stress...
